In Hungary, weekends never truly passed without the joy of baking a dessert. These were not the kind of elaborate desserts you might find in cafés or pastry shops. They were simple, humble creations, yet they carried a charm and deliciousness that made them unforgettable.
I believe that with just a little planning—perhaps by waking up a bit earlier on the weekend—we can bring this tradition back to our families. Baking is not only about the result; it is a soothing, calming ritual. And when the final dessert turns out beautifully, the joy you feel is truly rewarding. Of course, no one becomes an experienced baker overnight. That is why I created this book: to guide you on this journey, step by step.
One important secret I must share with you is this: always measure your ingredients with a digital kitchen scale. While many recipes use cups, I’ve seen again and again in my classes that the most successful bakers were the ones who measured precisely.
In this book, I have included recipes that are approachable for beginners, as well as more challenging creations for those ready to explore further. My hope is that within these pages you will find desserts that become your own family favorites, bringing sweetness, joy, and treasured memories to your home.
Wishing you happy baking, with warmth and from the heart.
