When you hear Rubik, you immediately think of Rubik’s cube.
This book is about his father, Ernő Rubik Sen., who was one of the great figure of the history of Hungarian aviation.
Inventor, airplane designer, constructor engineer. One of a series of all-metal gliders designed by Rubik from 1957 onwards, the R-26 Góbé was intended to provide two-seat instruction, with the rear seat raised for a view forward. Series production started in 1962 and the first production aircraft flew in August 1963. Almost 200 were produced.
Mr. Péter Besenyei (born 1956) is a renowned Hungarian aerobatics pilot and world champion air racer. He, like many others learned to fly in one of Rubik’s plains. Mr. Bertalan Farkas (astronaut) started flying in the Legendary „GÓBÉ” designed by Mr. Rubik Sen.
