Leírás

Preface to the Series (Bela K. Kiraly); Imre Nagy: Leader and Martyr of 1956 (Janos M. Rainer); Curriculum Vitae of Imre Nagy (Janos M. Rainer); Plot 301 (Attila Lukacsi); Biographies of Personalities. Imre Nagy (1896 – 1958) was a Hungarian communist politician who was appointed Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the People’s Republic of Hungary on two occasions. Nagy’s second term ended when his non-Soviet-backed government was brought down by Soviet invasion in the failed Hungarian Revolution of 1956, resulting in Nagy’s execution on charges of treason two years later.

Author Janos M. Rainer (b. 1957) is a historian who was awarded the Szechenyi Prize in 2010. Named after Istvan Szechenyi, the Szechenyi Prize is given in Hungary by the state, in recognition of those who have made an outstanding contribution to academic life in Hungary.
